Casey Bloys, boss HBOannounced the release time of the highly anticipated series The Last of Us TV seriesattached early 2023.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bloys talked about the company’s future plans, including the list of nominees for the 2022 Emmy Awards, for which 24 HBO series earned a total of 155 nominations, and the TV series The Last of Us. Asked about the show’s release date with Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey based on Naughty Dog’s PlayStation exclusive, Bloys said it was “closer to the start of 2023”.
Therefore, the premiere of The Last of Us should take place in the first months of next year, or at worst, in the first half of 2023, as suggested by Kantemir Balagov, the director of the pilot episode, in May.
HBO’s The Last of Us TV series is produced in partnership with PlayStation Productions, a studio Sony created to adapt custom first-party games to work for the big and small screen.
Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) will be Joel, while Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) will be Ellie. Other actors include Anna Torv, Merle Dandrige, Nick Offerman, Nico Parker, Gabriel Luna, Jeffrey Pierce and Murray Bartlett. The first season will follow the events of the original game, which was released exclusively for PS3 in 2013 and will return in September in Remake form for PS5.
