Microsoft Could Run Xbox Streaming Box

Microsoft is reportedly working on new streaming gear that will allow access to games as well as movies and TV services through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. According to VentureBeat, this device, which will connect to televisions and can be in the shape of a small rectangular or round box, should hit the market within the next 12 months.

Microsoft is also working closely with Samsung to develop an Xbox streaming app for the South Korean giant’s TVs. According to VentureBeat, the release of this application will be scheduled in a schedule similar to the streaming box.

Microsoft is working to expand its video game streaming solutions beyond Xbox consoles. Last week, the company struck a deal with Epic Games to offer Fortnite for free through Xbox Cloud Gaming. It is an initiative that allows Fortnite to be played on smartphones and other terminals, such as VoD services like Netflix, without the need for a console or gaming PC.
