The IDC Brazil PCs Tracker 2021 study showed that 8.7 million personal computers were sold last year, up 37% from 2020. Retail trade accounted for the largest volume of sales, with 5.1 million vehicles sold.
The sector’s performance, combined with an increase in computer prices, which averaged an 18% change, stimulated the insurance market. Some market players are already seeing an increase in demand for policies that protect desktops, laptops, monitors, headphones, keyboards and mice.
For example, at PDVBox, an Insurtech Saas engaged in distribution and commercialization for the insurance market, searches for “Insurance Gamer” grew 17% year-over-year. With various restriction options, the product guarantees fixed and portable equipment against theft and/or skilled theft; external damage or caused by contact with water or other liquids.
