While we all wait for the Elder Scrolls 6 release date, Skyrim’s constant stream of mods is sure to keep us busy, and I’ve found a new comprehensive quest mod that should give it a Bethesda RPG feel. I was thirsty. This Skyrim content has voice acting, lots of new quests, and a floating talking sword, so it really does have a little bit of everything.

This is the No Umbra – Chapter 3 Skyrim mod from FableForge, and before you worry about having to download too many mods to make it work, the first two chapters are enabled by default.

Although the Umbra Sword was added through the Creation Club, it is much larger and adds a “DLC-sized quest chain” with around 5,000 new lines, multiple endings, new locations, mechanics, and a floating sword that you can throw and riding, with mind control and teleportation included for good measure.

“The story centers entirely on the Daumbra: the final incarnation of the cursed sword Umbra,” writes FableForge. “She can be your partner, but she can also be your weapon, and she has some mechanics that I think are kind of new, like riding her like a hoverboard or throwing her like spears (and then fighting bad guys where you land), mind control, teleportation, telekinetic use of enemies’ own weapons against them, etc.

You unlock these mechanics and abilities as you progress through Skyrim mod quests, and it’s recommended that you take your time completing all 11 quests, instead take a break as you might miss out on some items if dont do it. they unfold organically when playing a normal game of Skyrim.

There are also several endings based on moral choice, apparently in the spirit of the Fallout New Vegas ending. So there can’t be a black and white answer, and personally, that’s what makes open-world games like Bethesda’s interesting when done right.

To be honest, I don’t want to give away much more, so it’s better to download the Skyrim mod yourself and avoid too many descriptors, rather than just check what other mods you need to install and what else is recommended.

There are plenty of games like Skyrim to get your hands on if mods aren’t enough for you these days, and our roundup of the best dragon games is sure to soothe your Skyrim itch.
