As Diablo 4’s first weekend of public beta approaches, players will discover their favorite buildings, explore the various cities and dungeons found in Act 1 of Blizzard’s fantasy RPG, and learn how to take on some of his toughest enemies and bosses. . But the surprise appearance surprises many Diablo 4 players, as one of the most iconic enemies emerges from the shadows to take on fresh meat galore, veterans and newbies alike.

While the various boss fights you’ll encounter during the beta, such as Lair Mother and Z’Phal, the Wounded Baron, can certainly annihilate your character in moments, there’s one particularly deadly enemy that can lurk in many dungeons that have the item surprise on his back. And no, we’re not talking about Diablo 4 error code 316719.

Diablo 4’s Butcher can appear as a random boss in any dungeon in the game, and is perhaps the most terrifying sight to be found in the dank basements and dusty hallways of Diablo 4. His giant meat cleaver and meat cleaver . he can throw any unfortunate victim right into his paws, the butcher can turn you to mush in moments.

As if his weapons weren’t terrifying enough, the Butcher can take you down with downright impressive speed and can stun adventurers on the spot to nearly seal their fate. He’s already one of the most dangerous opponents in the beta, and even more so because you’re unlikely to see him get close. Blizzard Twitter account talk“We apologize to everyone who was killed during the beta. But it will happen again. And yet. And yet.”

First appearing in the original 1996 Diablo, the Butcher has since appeared as the final boss in Diablo 3 and rears its ravenous head again in Diablo Immortal. Diablo 4’s Butcher is scary enough for a standard character, but especially for the more hardcore daredevils. Apex Legends streamer Chris Covent tweeted: “In Diablo’s classic move, I lost my first hardcore character to The Butcher.” Not only.

No matter what kind of Diablo 4 you play, the Butcher is a threat. However, the general consensus from the community seems to be that the mage generally feels stronger early on, while the barbarian’s need to stay in melee doesn’t match up with enough survivability early in the game. Of course, there’s a good chance this will change as players reach higher levels or Blizzard rebalances things for the full release.

I did kill a Butcher on my behalf, but it wasn’t something to brag about – I was pretty lucky to encounter him a second time just a few seconds after getting the Pipe Channel buff that turns you into a teleport ball of lightning death. By the time he finished, the butcher was down to less than 10% health and I was able to get him out of relatively safe place with my ranged rogue build. The less said about my first encounter with the giant demon, the better.
