Ubisoft confirms presence at E3, ‘lots to show’

Ubisoft has confirmed that it intends to take part in a revamped E3 Los Angeles show this year, “if it actually happens.”

Speaking at Thursday’s earnings conference, CEO Yves Guillemot said: “If E3 happens, we’ll be there and we’ll have something to show.” It’s unclear why Guillemot hinted at the apparent uncertainty surrounding the organization of this year’s E3 event.

At the end of last year, details of the updated E3 2023 format were revealed, which will split separate business and consumer events into four days in June.

E3 will return for its first in-person event since 2019, but the form it will take is not yet clear. PAX, New York Comic-Con and Star Wars Celebration organizers are celebrating a new take on the event, a reshaping of E3 after years of turmoil and the cancellation of all of E3 2022.

At the last live event in 2019, Ubisoft unveiled Rainbow Six Quarantine (later renamed Rainbow Six Extraction) and Immortals: Fenyx Rising. The company returned to the digital exhibition E3 in 2021, showing a teaser for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

E3 2023 has officially been announced to run from Tuesday, June 13th to Friday, June 16th. Late last year, details of the updated format were revealed, which will split individual business and consumer events over four days in June. It’s not clear why Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot potentially questioned the actual holding of the event with a suggestion regarding his company’s possible involvement: “If there’s E3, we’ll be there and we’ll have something to show.” “.
