Put Skyrim Mods Off As Oblivion And Morrowind Clash In A New Project

There are plenty of new Skyrim mods to help fantasy fans pass the time until Bethesda’s next games come out, but waiting for a release date for Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6 is even easier with a crossover mod that includes two previous entries in the series. Both Morrowind and Oblivion deserve their place among the greatest RPGs of all time, and the new Elder Scrolls mod combines them in spectacular fashion.

Nickies Cross-Game Invader addon is a mod that allows players to transfer their items, spells, and player data between Oblivion and Morrowind and vice versa. This means you can use the same character in both games, bring your main character or NPC as a follower, or even fight a character you created from game to game.

On top of that, modder Nikis has created a new special set of encounters with a unique crossplay boss called “Tone Invader”. This enemy will appear during the new Morrowind quest started on the shores of Solstheim, to escape after defeating him in battle. You will then need to hunt him down to Cyrodiil in Oblivion to kill him.

Nikis explains that the boss has unique systems for each game: fighting the Tonal Invader in Morrowind will face that game’s stat checks, while combat in Oblivion adds the last game’s timed stops to the encounter. Nikis adds that “both segments are full of depth and Easter eggs,” encouraging players to watch to find out everything that happens in the game.

Defeating the Tonal Invader allows you to transfer your spells, items, and other characters between games, though Nicky points out that you can skip this requirement if you just want to play with Oblivion’s damage reflection effect in Morrowind, or transfer your favorite enchantment from Morrowind to Oblivion. . .

Full instructions and details can be found on the Cross-Game Invader download page (via PC Gamer), which you should pay close attention to as the process is quite complex. It’s such a cool concept that we think it’s worth it.

Hopefully we’ll hear more news about Starfield’s release date at the next Starfield Show, but in the meantime, check out other titles like Skyrim for that itch only the best open-world games can really soothe.
