The Lost Ark Anniversary Update has been released, celebrating the anniversary of the worldwide release of the massively multiplayer fantasy RPG. Although the game was released longer for Korean players, the Amazon Games release was a consistent success in its first year, attracting a huge audience with a mix of Diablo-style gameplay and multiplayer games like World of Warcraft and FFXIV.
Leading the announcements is the arrival of Lost Ark’s new continent, Rowan. Lying west of Shushir, this war-torn land is home to the precious purple gemstones called Silmael. To get there you will need item level 1445, after which you can side with the order-loving Preigelli faction or the chaotic forces of Libertano and engage in various missions and PvP activities, fighting for control of the world. region.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a holiday without a party, so there’s an anniversary event that includes collecting greeting cards from the various endgame events, and a new minigame based on hot springs. This hot spring event takes place every two hours and sees teams of players battling with mallet ducks as they compete to collect as many rubber duckies as possible and place them in their basket.
There are double login rewards and two login reward chains throughout the month, including a host of cool “birthday gifts”, including a fancy Mirror Ball Bubble mount that places your characters inside a giantess of disco ball. There’s also a Fever-Time event from February 8-21, offering additional bonus rewards, and you can win a free Yearling title to celebrate if you log in before March 10, 2023.
Outstanding Lost Ark players who have logged into the game every day for the past year get a special prize: they will receive a trophy fortress structure celebrating their achievement. The developer Smilegate points out that three days are not counted due to maintenance downtime. Don’t be too zealous if you don’t qualify though – you too can win a trophy in the future just by logging in for 365 consecutive days.
There are also some balance changes, including several changes to the Kaliligos Guardian raid to reduce its overall difficulty. As you’d expect, the Lost Ark store has plenty of cosmetic items to celebrate the occasion, so you won’t be short of colorful and stylish ways to dress your Sims up for the party!
Additionally, Lost Ark Twitch Drops are available through February 27, allowing you to earn two separate packs for four and eight hours of total watch time from registered Lost Ark streamers. Amazon Games announces that it will also give away additional giveaways to 50 Lost Ark streamers between February 8 and February 18.
The Lost Ark Witcher event is also underway, so if you haven’t met Geralt, Triss, Jenn, Ciri, and Dandelion from the CD Projekt Red series yet, you have until February 22. It’s definitely going to be a festive time in Arcesia, so if you’re visiting Lost Ark, like I am, then there’s no better time than now.
