If you’re incredibly excited about the Stars Wars Jedi Survivor release date and can’t wait to dive back into a galaxy far, far away, I’ve got a real treat for you. While the Star Wars game promises to let you explore new parts of the iconic universe, you can actually return to Star Wars: Jedi Knight – Dark Forces 2 as a fan remake of the early parts of the game on Unreal Engine, while we wait. for Star Wars Jedi Survivor.
Originally released by LucasArts in 1997, this free game is the Unreal Engine remake of Dark Forces 2, created by Ruppertle fans. It comes with two levels, four survival levels, a sandbox mode, a 3D model viewer, and a bonus level to try random things. It will definitely help you through all the recent Star Wars Jedi Survivor gameplay that we were shown.
“Welcome to my first Unreal Engine project,” says Rupertl. “The goal was to recreate one of my favorite games from my childhood while keeping the basic look, feel and gameplay, and of course learning the engine itself.
“After nearly three years of development, the project has finally reached a point where I feel ready to share it with you.”
I tried this Dark Forces 2 remake thinking about Star Wars Jedi Survivor and I have to say that it’s pretty good. Maybe my computer was to blame for the slightly erratic frame rate, but it was really intuitive and fun to control, with the weapons giving the typical Star Wars feel you’d expect. Best of all, it’s free and easy to get started, so it’s worth a try.
Before we get too hopeful for you, the project’s Discord reports that there are no “firm plans” to turn this project into a full remake of Dark Forces 2. Three years on Rupertl to finish it, so the break at least seems set. good. deserved.
