Since the Riot Games hack, the MOBA developer has sent patch 13.3 for League of Legends, but unfortunately it will not be released on time. As the developers continue to look at damage, we’ll have to wait a while to see the buffs on Ahri and Aurelion Sol.
There is currently no set release date for League of Legends patch 13.3. Instead, in recent weeks Riot has released a few small patches that address minor issues, but the focus is really on 13.3, which will open a hole in the current meta.
Renewal of Aurelion Sol
Riot’s Aurelion Sol revamp is set to shake things up for some of the most popular midfield champions, bringing back the dusty old space pup. Accompanied by Lee Sin’s fun Easter egg, his new kit is quite complex but looks like absolute game.
Passive – Cosmic Creator
- Aurelion Sol’s damaging abilities turn enemies into stardust, enhancing their abilities.
- Q – Burst of Light: Q bursts deal (0.031% stardust stacks) an additional % max magic health damage.
- W – Astral Flight: Increased distance traveled based on Stardust.
Battery - E – Singularity: Increased area and execution threshold
- R – Shooting Star/Sky Falling: increased area
Q – Breath of Light
- Mana Cost: 45/50/55/60/65 mana per second
- Cooldown: 3 seconds
- Full Skill Description: Aurelion Sol casts starfire up to
(3.5/3.5/3.5/3.5/9999) seconds dealing (15/25/35/45/55 + 30-90 (varies by level) + 60% ability power) magic damage per second to the first enemy hit and 50% damage to nearby enemies. Each full second of the same enemy’s explosion deals an explosion of (40/50/60/70/80 + 20-40 (varies by level) + 50% AP) magic damage plus (0.031% stardust)% max health damage and absorbs 1 stardust if champion. The range of this skill is 750 to 920 (scaling with level). Percent damage deals a maximum of 300 magic damage to jungle monsters.
W – Astral Flight
- Mana Cost: 80/85/90/95/100 mana
- Cooldown: 22/20.5/19/17.5/16 seconds
- Full Skill Description: Aurelion Sol flies in a certain direction. During flight,
Breath of Light has no cooldown, no maximum channel duration, and its flat damage is increased by 14/15.5/17/18.5/20%. Killing champions within 3 seconds of damaging them restores 90% of this ability’s cooldown. Using Breath of Light while flying reduces flight speed by 50%. Flight speed is 335 + 100% movement speed.
E – Singularity
- Mana Cost: 60/70/80/90/100 mana
- Cooldown: 12/11.5/11/10.5/10 seconds
- Full Ability Description: Aurelion Sol summons a black hole that deals (10/15/20/25/30 + 40% AP) magic damage and pulls enemies towards the center for 5 seconds. Enemies in bottom center (5 + 2.6% stardust stack) % max health are instantly killed. The Black Hole consumes Stardust when enemies die in it and there is an enemy champion every second. The range of this skill is 750 to 920 (scaling with level). Minions and the jungle monsters inside them will have a movement speed of 0. (This ability absorbs 1 Stardust per second from Champions. Stardust is absorbed by units that die in the black hole: Epic Monsters: 10 Stardust, Champions and Large Monsters: 5 Stardust, Siege Minions: 3 Stardust Minions, and Small Monsters: 1 Stardust).
R – Shooting Star / The sky is descending
- Mana Cost: 100 mana
- Cooldown: 120/110/100 seconds
- Shooting Star: Aurelion Sol tears a star from the sky and
Smash him into the ground, dealing (150/250/350 + 65% AP) magic damage, stunning enemies for 1.25 seconds, and absorbing 5 stardust per champion hit. - The Skies Descend: Collect 75 Stardust Transforms The Next
A shooting star in the sky descends. Aurelion Sol draws all the fury from the space constellation, dealing (187.5/312.5/437.5 + 81.25% AP) magic damage in a larger area, knocking back enemies hit for 1.25 seconds and unleashes a massive shockwave that deals (150/250 /350 + 60% Ability Power) magic damage to champions and epic monsters and slows all enemies hit by 75% for 1 second.
League of Legends support improvements, item changes
As former League of Legends commentator turned game designer David “Frick” Turley mentioned, Full Support is finally getting some much-needed love. The buff list includes Alistair, Braum, Nautilus, Pyke, Rakan, and Thresh, with a large number of changes to each.
As promised by Phreak, Radiant Virtue has also been tweaked to be more tanky than utility. Umbral Glaive (my favorite item for Senna and Pyke players) sadly takes a knee arrow due to the ranged support meta (thanks to Ash), ranged champions deal less damage to enemy wards and their cooldown is increased 40 to 50 seconds.
Champion buffs and nerfs
Since this article is getting pretty long, I’ll quickly list the champions getting buffs and nerfs in this update.
- Fans: Jarvan IV, Kayle, Kane, Leblanc, Trundle
- Nerfs: Annie, Amumu, Kassadin, K’Sante, Zak.
New League of Legends Skins: Patch 13.3
Finally, three new Valentine’s Day-themed skins will be added on February 9: Heartache Amumu and Vi, as well as Heartthrob Caitlyn (again, keep in mind that the update itself will take longer). Considering Amumu is my favorite champion of all time and this skin is so cute, this is an instant buy for me.
Needless to say, this patch includes some pretty big changes, so I hope my favorites Pyke, Rakan, and Nautilus finally make their way to the League of Legends tier list. Until we see what happens though, I’ll be rooting for Amumu with this new skin while wondering how much I’ve spent on League of Legends. Spoiler alert: too much.
