Ashica Island is a new map set in the Pacific Ocean that, according to the Call of Duty story, was planned as a tourist destination when construction stopped in the 1990s for mysterious reasons. It’s now a staging post for a group of international arms smugglers, and there’s even an underwater facility hidden in the caves below the island.
When players infiltrate Ashika Island in the DMZ, they will find it shrouded in mist. They will have to keep an eye out for other players, but also for Shadow Company members who have decided on Ashik.
Activision reports that the island has a new weapon case, as well as a new boss called the Bomb Maker, new blocked and dangerous areas, and more.
Existing DMZ locations, the Al Mazrah Warzone 2 Large Map, and the Building 21 Exclusion Zone will also see changes at the start of Season 2.
Season 2 will also include a partial cleanup of DMZ progression, though players will retain some of the unlocks from Season 1; It’s not as drastic as the server cleanup in Escape from Tarkov. You will lose all contraband weapons and keys you have collected and your Warzone 2 faction mission progress will be reset. However, you will keep any additional secured weapon slots you have unlocked and any quest and boss rewards you have earned will remain in your inventory.
