Starfield needs to play E3 Fallout 4 for the new showcase to shine

As Starfield’s release date approaches, I keep thinking about how Bethesda will announce its new RPGs. After the announcement of Starfield E3 2018, the flux of informations is slow, and Bethesda a naturally joué ses cartes plus près de la poitrine avec des révélations et de nouvelles informations, attendant de nous montrer de quoi she is capable when she will be ready. The thing is, the next Starfield presentation really has a chance to shine, and Bethesda already showed us that with Fallout 4 at E3 2015.

When Fallout 4 came out, it had a leg up on Starfield as it was a pre-existing IP that had already seen two games released by Bethesda, Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas, but there’s a lot this Starfield showcase could mimic Fallout. 4 discoveries for a stellar display.

Bethesda certainly wanted to build buzz for their new space game and show the industry what they had in store to help with recruiting when they were first revealed, as the Starfield team now apparently numbers around 500 people, but not change. what we expected.

We’ve been told about random escapes for five years now, and while this new Starfield showcase is on the way, Bethesda should go with this, which will likely be its last, Starfield showcase, and Fallout 4 provides the perfect template.

Fallout 4 was unveiled at E3 2015 and released in November of the same year, just four months later. Starfield, as a new IP, certainly needed more time to properly market, but Bethesda may have benefited from a much shorter time from disclosure to release. Keep in mind that this will still be gangster, but it will likely be the last major reveal before Starfield Game Pass launches, so it should be special.

Bethesda has had the power and the industry for years to make jaw-dropping reveals and shorten the time between them and launch. Fallout 4 had a jam-packed 30-minute presentation, and if Starfield can come close to that with even grittier gameplay accompanied by Todd Howard’s mellow tones, it just might work.

I went back and watched the Fallout 4 presentation and it’s definitely one of the best finds ever. Howard comes out and starts us off with some concept art before diving into the exact opening of Fallout 4. There’s little to nothing extra, and Bethesda is so close to release that they can show us exactly what it’s all about. . . If Starfield’s introduction begins with the opening of the RPG and a closer look at its character creation tools, I’ll get goosebumps.

There was a lot of raw gameplay in the Fallout 4 announcement, and it was all punctuated by the occasional intervention from Howard. Some of what he said sounded like video game buzzwords, sure (“volumetric lighting” anyone?), but Bethesda let the raw game do the talking because they clearly trusted it. I see them doing the same with Starfield, hopefully adding a lot of new details to this showcase.

At the end of the Fallout 4 announcement, that year’s release date garners cheers that rival the return of a fan-favorite fighter, and it’s the moment that ties the entire showcase together. Starfield could pull it off as well, and I think if we don’t get a Starfield release date by the end of this demo, it’s going to ruin the whole presentation.

To be clear, none of this will have a negative impact on the actual Starfield experience, and I commend Bethesda for delaying the game’s release from last November to ensure it’s the best it can be. However, I’m sure Starfield would have benefited from a shorter lead time from discovery to launch…it’s been a long five years.

While we still have to wait for the Elder Scrolls 6 release date, Starfield’s big demo that ends with a spectacular release date announcement is just what Bethesda needs right now. They showed they could do it with Fallout 4, so I hope they can use it again for Starfield.

In the meantime, if you want to learn more about Starfield, we’ve put together some helpful guides that cover everything we know about the game so far, like how Starfield ship builds work, Starfield ability assignments, and exactly how Starfield is the persuasion. the system works, it works too.
