Mageseeker: League of Legends spin-off will focus on Silas

Historically, Riot has been very good at revealing their future games from Riot Forge, third-party studios focused on small one-shot games using League of Legends intellectual property. This includes the turn-based RPG Ruined King, the fast-paced Hextech Mayhem, and two games announced for 2021, Song of Nunu and Convergence, though we don’t yet know when those games will arrive.

Today, however, Riot surprised us with a completely unannounced title. According to posted by Twitter Gematsu, the Korean Game Rating Board just rated something called Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story, an action game starring Silas. The game received a score of 12 or higher for “continuous fight scenes between humans and non-humans”. Expect some light violence, but nothing like the levels of Mortal Kombat blood and guts.

Based on the title and description, the game revolves around Silas and may even explore his tragic history. Silas, born with powerful magic in the magic-hating city of Demacia, was used by the city’s mage hunters to find other mages to imprison – or worse. Silas eventually realized how he was being used to unfairly persecute magic users like himself, and after accidentally killing two mage hunters, he was sentenced to life in prison.

Of course, Silas’ story doesn’t end there. He will eventually free himself from his bonds to lead a resistance group, offering a safe haven for mages and waging war against Demacia and its government. A lot happened between his imprisonment and becoming the leader of the revolution, which could be fertile ground for a potential action game.

New additions to Mageseeker are on the way

In other League of Legends news, Riot is kicking off the year with early announcements of two new champions coming in late 2023: the sorcerer named Milio and the assassin named Naafiri. There will also be some changes to the League’s ranking system, with two separate divisions resetting their rankings midway through the season.

This news comes after a preview of upcoming additions that players may see in the game in 2023. According to the studio, Riot plans to create a “more diverse champion pool, including all cultures, genders, and in-game skills and levels.” .” “. Although the details are a bit ambiguous, Riot has released some accurate information on the upcoming champions, calling Milio “a male Ishtal caster demonstrating incredible understanding of the axiom of fire.” This particular character “uses fire not to destroy cities, but to heal wounds.”

As for Naafiri, the character is described as “a melee killer made for those of us who want to focus on the hunt.” Riot adds that Naafiri will be able to use “bodies” in his “simple kit”, explaining how the champion will do everything to prowl as part of the “package”. This will be the first Darkin champion added to League of Legends in recent times, with Cain being added to the game in 2017.

Riot also announced a number of significant changes to the League of Legends ranking system. The upcoming season will have two separate divisions, with ranks reset around the middle of the season. Of course, this means that not one, but two special skins will be offered as a reward for participating in the competition.
