Nier Automata anime release date very, very soon

Yes, my friends, you read that right – the Nier Automata anime release date is set for early January 2023. What better way to kick off the new year than by watching a TV adaptation of an anime adventure game, right?

While we’ve reported snippets of the Nier Automata anime before, the trailer released on Christmas Day 2022 finally gave us the information we needed: the official release date.

The Nier Automata Ver1.1a release date has been set for January 7, 2022. and will be available on Hulu and Prime Video, as well as many Japanese streaming sites. They are all listed here.

The trailer shows fan-favorite character 2B running across a smoke-filled battlefield with a limp 9S in his arms. “I wonder how long I’ll keep fighting,” he says (according to Google Translate, don’t chase me) as the music reaches a rather epic crescendo.

We see snippets of the game’s first boss fight beautifully rendered in smooth Japanese-style animation. Based on the snippets we’ve seen so far, it looks like the story will progress as it did in-game, but hopefully there are a few twists along the way: Yoko Taro we’re talking about. , after all.

The Nier Automata anime follows the hit TV shows Arcane and Edgerunners, with the former winning award after award and the latter prompting a massive influx of gamers to Cyberpunk 2077 after its rocky launch.

Since Bioware rallied to victory with Dragon Age: Absolution, I hope we’ll continue to see developers turn their game worlds into animated TV shows, and I a life for this.

As the release date approaches, you can check out our Neir Automata review if you’ve never played the game before. Otherwise, we’ve got a list of the best anime games and best RPGs to keep you busy while we look forward to Nier Automata Ver1.1a.
