Baldur’s Gate 3 Hotfix Prevents Gas Creatures From Falling Off Cliffs

A new major patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 has been released, following patch 9, which introduced the new D&D Paladin class. The patch adds some long-awaited new features to the RPG, such as minimap pings, and also prevents characters from being kicked off rocks in a gaseous state.

Gaseous Form is a third level transmutation spell that can be cast by witches, wizards, and wizards trained in this school. This allows the caster to transform himself or a melee ally into a cloud of mist, making them resistant to all damage and granting them advantage on all Constitution, Dexterity, and Strength saving throws.

The problem is that the spell wasn’t affecting most of the characters correctly, so they could still be pushed off high mounds or rocks and fall to their death. Hotfix #30 fixes this issue and characters in gas form will no longer be affected by surface conditions on the ground that they pass through as sentient whistles.

This may not be the biggest change in the last patch, it’s just the one that amused me the most. There’s a lot more to it though: you can now ping the minimap, which is definitely a useful feature in co-op. The hotfix includes a fix for multi-projectile spells like Magic Missile, which should now use the correct routes and hit chosen targets, which is also a big problem.

Fixed an issue that caused damage to characters when using the “throw” action to throw thrown weapons, and Larian also fixed a rare bug that caused all zombies to die when the original zombie spawned with the “raise dead” spell he was murdered. .

The full patch notes contain all the details worth checking out if you’re planning a new Early Access RPG. We now know that the Baldur’s Gate 3 release date will be in August and we expect Matt Mercer to play the legendary hero Minsk.
