This Steam Deck controls a creepy robot inspired by Cyberpunk 2077.

A Steam Deck enthusiast is using Valve’s portable gaming PC to take control of a spider-like robot, and it looks like it’s straight out of Cyberpunk 2077. Nasty.

On YouTube, Stanislav Arkhipenko turns the Steam Deck into an APC-1 Hexapod bot controller. This particular model is a “search and rescue” vehicle, although the original design was more of a concept and was not used in any actual rescue missions. The interface on the bridge screen has a number of functions that allow you to use different modes and speeds.

Of course, the proof of the pudding is in the food, so in the next part of the video, Arkhipenko controls the robot, moving it back and forth, back and forth, and moving his head with the camera. Considering how he uses the Steam Deck with what appears to be custom software, it’s pretty exciting to see it running with little to no lag. However, some may feel a tingling down their spine from the way it moves, like an automatic version of arachnids.

It also tells you how many times you can use your gaming laptop PC. From connecting it to the best Steam Deck docking station, attaching third-party mods to it, and now piloting a little robot, it seems Valve has really moved on with this device.

Along with the demo video, Archipenka has provided a link to the GitHub page if you’d like to access the source code. Additionally, there are instructions for building the APC-1 with the components you’ll need, as well as a link to the parts for 3D printing. Granted, it’s a little scary when you see this in action, but it might appeal to those who have a Steam Deck and are fans of Cyberpunk 2077.
