Among the many filters, for example, the VHS effect stands out, which, in combination with the color palette of the game, can give some images an interesting atmosphere, concisely combining retro and distorted reality at the same time.

The architecture of the game has its own regular geometric shapes, which encourages the creation of interesting compositions in virtual photography. You can also see the correctness of the architecture combined with its gigantic size in the next two photos. The Control environment is majestic and mysterious at the same time.

Management takes place in a massive office complex built in the architectural style of brutalism. Despite their seeming innocence, the individual workplaces in the game are largely abandoned, giving the game a horror, post-apocalyptic feel in places. During the game, I often thought of my favorite game, “Everyone was delighted.”

However, many of the workers have not disappeared anywhere, and in the game you can often see how menacingly and almost soullessly hovering in the air. Mechanical murmuring and repetition of phrases go hand in hand with such an environment. In a sense, the game exaggerates the vitality of career hierarchies, bureaucracy, and the mechanistic nature of the bureaucracy as a whole.

The authors of the studio Remedy duly won with the detail of the environment. One of the possible goals of virtual photography may be that at first glance it is not clear what the game is like. Many game photographers play with compositions, focusing on various details, while deliberately ignoring the main characters and elements that are inextricably linked to the game. Sometimes you can also leave a less conspicuous thing in the picture to reveal the game.

Weapons – a separate chapter. On them in modern games you can see a huge amount of detail from various scratches, dried drops of blood and other signs of wear. You certainly will not confuse the weapon of the main character of Control with another.

Action scenes are pretty tricky. They require quite a lot of patience and luck. However, by far the biggest problem is to stop thinking about the game, watch the movements and animations of the characters and switch to photo mode at the right time.

If games competed for the title of “Most Beautiful Floor”, Control would be a hot candidate to win.
