Has the UK government changed three prime ministers on its bingo card for 2022? What about the official UK government Discord server? If so, tell me who’s giving you the information, because I, too, wish I could see into the strangely mundane future of British politics. However, unsurprisingly, almost as if the government has made the wrong decision in a strategy game, the Discord server is not performing very well.
Specifically, the Discord server is for the UK Treasury. The “read only server” will deliver breaking news and updates from this branch of government, and what I can only describe as knowing your audience, no one will be able to write cats and smear them with bullshit, because they would be in a moment, let’s be real.
However, that hasn’t stopped some people from using the few tools at their disposal to attack the UK government’s Discord server. The hand gestures and clown emojis found their way onto the server pretty easily (I’m sure you can imagine how), and I’m incredibly impressed with the coordination skills, as some pretty nasty words have already been explained on The reactions. with letter emoticons. I aggressively give it a day, a week before everything shuts down.
It just shows a general misunderstanding of what Discord is and what kind of people use it. While disabling posts and comments was a smart move, how did anyone figure out that if people had the ability to mess something up, they definitely would? I will not repeat anything said here, because I love my job and I want to keep it.
I can confirm that the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt, sadly appears to have created a Discord account for himself, although I highly doubt it’s him, and with the comments under all posts featuring him, that’s probably for the best. It’s incredibly appropriate that the UK government’s Discord is a literal disagreement, so I’m at least going to give the server a sinking ship.
This isn’t even the first strange technical move from the UK government, as it was announced earlier this year that the Treasury would be introducing stablecoins as an accepted payment method in the UK. That’s right, you’ll soon be able to get Discord’s treasury nitro for the UK’s official cryptocurrency, why not?
Just another story on a completely ordinary island, right? You can find Discord for you here if you really want to join.
If that’s not enough for you, why not try one of the best fantasy games out there or games like Civilization to prove that you can run the country better than the UK government?
