The Cave Johnson Dota 2 Announcer Pack brings Portal 2 and Half-Life founder Aperture Science Corporation to Valve’s MOBA game. Announced during the International Grand Finals, the culmination of Dota 2’s first annual Multiplayer Tournament, the Announcer Pack will be part of the Battle Pass currently being offered as part of the Dota 2 TI 2022 Raffle.
The announcement was made thanks to a fun video you can watch below, featuring Valve President Gabe Newell, Dota 2 hosts The International Casey Aitchison and Jake “SirActionSlacks” Kanner, and what appears to be the returning voice of the prolific actor JK Simmons, who voices Johnson. in the Portal games along with roles as J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy and bossy drum instructor Terence Fletcher in Whiplash.
While there’s no official confirmation yet that Simmons will reprise the role, he certainly looks a lot like the man himself. The announcement is also accompanied short audio clip where Johnson says that the team has “become creatures of pure light” and “will keep trying, and maybe one day we’ll make man’s long-cherished dream come true: we’ll become pillars of pure salt.” I can not wait. so salty
The full video is worth watching – it features Gabe Newell as an overly altruistic and controlling boss who wants to record a new Dota 2 mega-kill vocal pack. (shirt, relaxing on shore) calls “Caveman” in a special telephone made of potatoes asking for a favor.
Cave Johnson Dota 2 Advertiser Recruitment is scheduled to arrive on November 3 with Part 2 of the 2022 Battle Pass.
