Destiny 2 Legacy Focusing is coming to the space FPS game, Bungie revealed in a blog post in the This Week at Bungie review. The team also shared upcoming updates to Destiny 2’s loot pool rotation, including the temporary removal of some popular weapons, and acknowledged issues with the launch of the current Festival of the Lost event.
While the team hasn’t shared any details on how Legacy Focusing will work in the space game, Bungie will introduce the feature with the start of Season 20. Season 20 will launch alongside the game’s highly anticipated Lightfall expansion on February 28, 2019. 2023.
The ability to focus weapons and armor has been a part of the Destiny 2 release for quite some time. Players can currently collect Shadow Engrams from activities in the world, which can then be used to craft weapons and armor. Focus allows players to create armor or weapons that focus on specific elements and traits, such as an armor that focuses on discipline or a pistol from the Suros family of weapons. So it seems logical that Legacy Focusing would allow players to focus their weapons and gear on items that are no longer obtainable in the game.
The team also announced that they will be removing several weapons from the Iron Banner, Trials of Osiris, and Nightfall loot pools in the upcoming season, just as they did in previous seasons.
Bungie will release Forge’s Pledge Pulse Rifle (Iron Banner), Riiswalker Shotgun (Iron Banner), Aisha’s Embrace Scout Rifle (Trials of Osiris), and Reed’s Regret Line Fusion Rifle in the upcoming season starting December 6. ), the Silicon Neuroma sniper rifle (Nightfall), and the Duty Bound automatic rifle (Nightfall).
Bungie also acknowledged several player issues and concerns regarding the currently ongoing Festival of the Lost event. Some of these include an issue causing bounties to not award the correct amount of Bright Dust, players reporting being unable to convert Spectral Pages to Manifest Pages as required to complete the event quest streak, shader texture issues , weapon reward sources not properly changing seasonal weapons, and more.
The team also launched a fan contest, encouraging the community to share their Festival of the Lost-themed art in a variety of formats. Bungie will be selecting certain items for rewards, including the Holy Coronation emblem seasonal cosmetics. Players interested in participating should share their art, making sure to mention the official Destiny 2 Twitter account.
