Battlefield 2042’s specialist system has been a hot topic since the multiplayer game’s launch, and EA/DICE are gradually bringing the system back to the more familiar class system from previous Battlefield games. Now, the developers have outlined some more changes related to the redesign of the class.

It seems there has been some talk about Battlefield 2042 moving closer to Arsenal. Basically, each Specialist could use any weapon, and they differed in the gadgets and abilities they brought to the field. According to DICE, some players feel that with the return to a class-based system, it would make sense to limit the potential number of weapons per class.

This makes a lot of sense: your stormtroopers will be armed primarily with assault rifles, while your scouts will primarily use DMRs and sniper rifles. The idea is that assigning weapon options to each class reinforces each class’s unique class personality, giving players a clearer idea of their role on the battlefield when choosing that character type.

However, DICE says that’s probably not a good idea, that it’s probably the right thing to do: At this point, players are used to choosing from a full arsenal when crafting their gear, and the presence of sudden restrictions on this probably seems subtractive. . how useful

Instead, DICE says it plans to strengthen class identities by giving classes certain weapon abilities that trigger when they wield the weapon that best suits their intended role. For example, a scout player will be able to hold their breath while aiming a rifle longer than other classes.

DICE’s latest update includes a long list of tweaks and changes coming to Pros and Battlefield 2042 in general. It is revealed that the Irishman and Crawford are trading classes so that Crawford can focus more on attack as an engineer and the Irishman as a support will be better equipped to help his fellow infantrymen, as expected.

The latest patch, Battlefield 2042 Update 2.2, is now live and includes permanent portal servers for Battle Pass Premium owners, as well as an Orbital map revamp.
