Inspired by the recent Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime, the new Cyberpunk 2077 mod will let you start your journey as Lucy, one of the main characters in the series. To get it right, you need to download some Cyberpunk 2077 RPG mods, but the result looks like one of those awesome alternative starter mods.
In the Custom Start Mod, Edgerunners Lucy begins a new life as V before meeting the anime’s main team, and Lucy’s Custom Start mod creator, onesieninja, explains how they fit her into her own cannon.
“Lucy ran away with the best online cyber racing team. Waking up in a junkyard in nomad territory, she joins the nomad clan and runs away with them under the alias V. The monowire user betrayed the clan and tried to sell her to Arasaka. She survived and they installed a monofilament on her,” explains the onseninja. “So she meets Jackie. She eventually decides to use her real name when she joins the Maine team.
So Cyberpunk Edgerunners takes place about a year before the events of Cyberpunk 2077, but it’s not canon at this point, so I wouldn’t worry too much about the logistics.
Lucy’s build in this Cyberpunk 2077 mod is also incredibly powerful, so it is recommended to play the game on very hard difficulty and avoid some bugs that will be fixed in the mod’s next patch.
You start at level 20, have preset stats, a full web outfit, Lucy’s weapon, the default V Nomad gear, and a set of cyberware upgrades that try to mirror the character featured in Cyberpunk Edgerunners. You will also receive 38 boons that “match what Arasaka and the nomads probably taught him.”
Once you’ve installed all the required and optional Cyberpunk 2077 mods, all you have to do is start a new game, select the nomad and the woman, apply the face preset, and start playing.
To be honest, this is another great Edgerunners-inspired Cyberpunk 2077 mod, fusing a lot of other content together to help create the illusion of being an anime game within a game that follows Cyberpunk 2077 players after the popular release of Edgerunners.
