Launch day is now largely hesitant, Overwatch 2 is now officially released. With the sequel to Blizzard’s popular multiplayer game using the Seasonal Battle Pass model, fans are understandably eager to see what’s in store for Overwatch 2. Game director Aaron Keller says there will be a new hero on the roster for season 2 and revealed that the character is someone players may already know.
“We’re going to introduce a new hero in Season 2,” Keller said during the Overwatch League live stream on October 7. “He is a tank hero that players have seen before.”

According to Keller, this hero, whoever he is, will be associated with a new map that will also appear in the second season. “He’s connected to this map,” Keller told the hosts, perhaps inadvertently showing that the next hero is also a man.
The fact that this is a character that has already been introduced to the Overwatch universe makes this a really interesting clue. We’ve already heard that the next member of the roster will be a tanky hero from Overwatch 2, but he’s not someone we’ve seen before, or that he’ll be “connected” to a new map.
