Official steam bridge pier could be coming soon as Valve claims to overcome current supply issues. While there are already plenty of suitable alternatives on the market, the gaming PC giant is aiming for a true “maximum peripheral” experience.

In an interview with IGN, Valve’s UX designer Lawrence Young spoke about the official steam bridge pier development issues, but reports that the company “hopes to have something to announce soon.” Supply constraints seem to be the main reason for the propeller launch delay, as the dock is manufactured in a different location than the bridge.

In addition to the Steam Dock snippets, Valve’s Lawrence Yang and Eric Peterson also provided some ideas for Steam Deck 2. When asked if the cards featured finer gameplay, Peterson listed potential performance issues, caveats about the size of the screen and the advantages and disadvantages of comfort. Yang adds reduced battery capacity to the same list, but alludes to gap mitigation.
