The Intel Core i9 13900K will be the most powerful processor in the company’s upcoming 13th generation series, also known as Raptor Lake, and it will be something of a swansong for the LGA 1700 socket. The official launch is still a long way off. , preliminary tests already show potentially the best level of performance of the flagship chip in the industry.
In PassMark (as indicated TUM_APISAK), four Intel Core i9 13900K benchmark records were posted to the site. With an average CPU Mark score of 54,433, the processor tops software charts and suggests it could be the best gaming CPU you can buy for your system this year.
It’s not hard to see why, given that the Core i9 13900K’s specs already look great on paper. With eight high-performance cores, 16 efficient cores, 24 threads, and a Turbo Boost clock speed of 5.8 GHz, it promises to be the absolute leader.
That is, of course, if you can cool it efficiently, as its TDP tops out at a whopping 250W, meaning you’ll need the best AIO cooler to get the most out of the chip.
We can’t wait to learn more about Intel’s 13th Gen Core series, including the 13900K, at the Intel Innovation event on September 27. However, that is the same day that AMD plans to release its Ryzen 7000 processors, which will likely be a worthy competitor to Blue Team’s latest silicon.
