The rumors have been proven correct: Dead Island 2’s release date has been officially announced, and it’s arrived with some awful trailers. The zombie game will be released on February 3, 2023 and will be set in a zombie-infested version of Los Angeles.
Developer Dambuster Studios attended the Gamescom opening ceremony for the world premiere of Dead Island 2. The trailer opens in a luxurious Beverly Hills home, where a zombie slayer dressed as a rock star wakes up after a wild party. . As he walks through the gate to get supplies, we see Los Angeles devastated by an outbreak of zombies, and our hero doesn’t care to creatively and carelessly destroy them.

The original Dead Island was developed by Techland, the studio that created the Dying Light series, so it’s no surprise that the zombie-slaying in Dead Island 2 is similar: there are brutal melee weapons, firearms. for good measure, and some really beefy melee combat, it’s all thrown into the mix.
Dumbuster says that there are six playable zombie hunters in Dead Island 2, each with their own dialogue and personality. You’ll be able to customize your assassin to suit your playstyle, and Dumbuster says you can change your skill tree on the fly to try out useless builds if your heart desires.
The campaign can be played solo or cooperatively with up to three players, and Dombuster says it features “the most advanced dismemberment system in the game”.
