Early Access Indie Stealth Game Gloomwood Delayed Until September

“Robber with a gun” has been the catchphrase for immersive indie sim Gloomwood since its release two years ago, and that naturally generated a high level of anticipation for the Early Access release date. Although it was scheduled for August 16, the developers have announced to postpone the date a few weeks. Gloomwood will now enter Early Access on September 6..

“Due to unforeseen issues with game development in recent months, as well as several of our developers getting sick Darkness (COVID) we have made the decision to postpone the release date of Gloomwood Early Access,” the developers wrote in a Steam update.

They explain that the delay is only three weeks and will allow them to make up for time lost due to illness and give them some breathing space to run an update for another game they are working on, Ultrakill. This update, Ultrakill Act II, will be released as scheduled on August 16.

“As you may know, we have extremely high standards here at New Blood, and Gloomwood is no exception,” the developers conclude with what we assume is a withered look on their faces. (After all, they created Dusk, so we can’t blame them.)

In the meantime, check out the best old games you can play on PC right now, and you’ll have plenty to fill the extra three weeks you’ll be waiting for when Gloomwood launches into Early Access on Steam.
