Facebook Gaming closes the gap with Twitch, but there is still a gap between the two platforms
Meta’s platform seems to be doing well in emerging markets.
Meta is fully joining the battle for the future of virtual reality with a highly commented price increase for Meta Quest 2, but at the same time, Facebook Gaming has one more of its great assets for the years to come with its video game publishing. The platform continues to lag behind Amazon’s Twitch, but has seen a significant reduction in distance throughout the month of June.
According to StreamElements data always compiled by GamesIndustry, Twitch recorded 1.7 billion hours watched in June, 6% less than in May, while Facebook Gaming recorded a total of 425 million hours watched, up 21% compared to the previous month. Third place was once again YouTube Gaming with 290 million hours of live gameplay videos watched in June.
