So do you want to know how to solve astral puzzles in Genshin Impact? This is a series of four puzzles that you will face as part of the Ancient Azure Stars quest that Mona is involved in. Each puzzle features a constellation and a set of grounded light devices that, when touched, emit a beam of light in one direction.
What are you doing monkey puzzle Puzzling is the fact that each device can only emit one beam and in one direction. You can rotate the fixtures to choose the direction of the beam, but otherwise you’ll have to figure out where to shoot each beam so that the resulting light pattern on the ground matches the pattern you’re trying to copy. Sometimes the constellation is hidden or obscured and the clues lie elsewhere.
This Genshin Impact event includes many races and other activities, but we have prepared a guide on how to solve each of the astral puzzles in the order you find them.
Event Quest “Ancient Azure Stars”
The Astral Puzzles are part of the Ancient Azure Stars quest, which in turn is the start of part five of the Summer Odyssey flagship event for Genshin Impact 2.8. To participate in the Summertime Odyssey events, you must meet the following criteria:
- Adventure Rank 32 or higher
- Complete Archon’s quest “Chapter 2: Prologue – Winds of Autumn, Scarlet Leaves.”
- Complete Mona’s story mission “Astrolabe Chapter: Act 1 – Beyond the Stars of this World.”
If you haven’t completed Mona’s story quest yet, you can also join the event using the “Quick Start” option on the event page. Summertime Odyssey events will run through August 24, 2022.
How to solve astral puzzles in Genshin Impact
Like all Summertime Odyssey quests, Ancient Azure Stars takes place in the Golden Apple Archipelago. In total, you must solve four puzzles. For a visual guide on how to solve each puzzle, check out this video from ZaFrostPet:
First astral enigma
The first astral puzzle is easy to solve. Just look up at the sky to see the pattern you need to create. The solution is quite simple to understand: three lights are arranged in a triangle in the center, so that they flow towards each other in the row, like a loop. Then the device in the back should point to the device across the room, and the two on the outside should point to the closest device.
In this room you will also find the 20th and last Genshin Impact Ghost Shell, so make sure you grab it before continuing.
Second astral puzzle
It’s a little harder to figure out, but only because the constellation can only be seen through the broken ceiling, so you’ll have to move around to get the full picture. The pattern is a large triangle with a small line at the top. When looking at devices from the input side, the rightmost corner should point to the leftmost corner, which in turn points to the device at the top of the triangle.
The top device should point to the device between it and the bottom right corner. This central device then points to the bottom right corner, completing the large triangle. Starting from the left side, aim the devices in the middle of the triangle towards the next device in the queue until you have a jagged line from left to right.
Third astral puzzle
The clue to this puzzle is behind an invisible barrier behind the bathroom. There are several different solutions that work, and the image looks like a person running at a brisk pace.
Fourth Astral Riddle
Again, the clue for this puzzle is in the sky, but you need to hit the switch in the middle of the room to make it appear. The solution is simpler than it sounds: looking at the devices on the entrance side of the room, you can direct the five at the end of the group towards the device in the middle. The rest of the pattern is formed by pointing each device to the next in line to form a loop. The end result should be a pentagonal shape, almost like a large gabled tent, with five lines pointing up from the pentagon.
