A few days after its F1 22 debut in stores, EA Sports and Codemasters released their assessments of the Formula 1 drivers present in the game.
As with previous titles in the Codemasters series, in F1 22 the ratings provide an insight into the skills of the drivers present in the game and influence their driving style and beyond. Ratings are also dynamic – they don’t just change as you progress through Career Mode, but are updated based on drivers’ real-world performance throughout the season.
The values considered are four, i.e. Experience, Racecraft, Awareness and Peace, which determined the overall score. “Experience” represents the time a driver has spent on the track throughout his career. “Race car” takes into account starting and finishing positions throughout the career, a high value usually indicates a driver who has managed to move up in the rankings compared to the first placement. “Awareness” indicates the driver’s driving cleanliness and the amount of fines he received in the race. Finally, “Speed” is calculated by adding together the fastest laps in the race and comparing them not only to the fastest lap overall, but also to the teammate’s lap times.
