Ubisoft CEO receives voluntary salary

Longtime Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot revealed in a recent company statement that he was voluntarily receiving a salary of $327,000.

This discount represents about one-third of Guillemot’s annual compensation, excluding stock bonuses that will be available after 2023. His new salary for next year will be around $656,000.

“This is a personal decision by Yves Guillemot, given that the company has not achieved the financial targets it has publicly presented to the markets,” a Ubisoft employee told Axios.

Guillemot’s salary is a sign of difficulty at Ubisoft. The company’s operating profit fell 14% last year, net bookings fell 5% and the stock lost half its value. Guillemot’s cut size is also deceiving; It represents the maximum amount that Ubisoft can make from its work, both for financial purposes and for internal reforms related to the company’s sex scandals. Most likely, he would not have received the full $327,000.
