Square Enix announces Crisis Core Remastered for PC

Square Enix is ​​finally releasing the PC version of Crisis Core after the Final Fantasy 7 prequel has been on PlayStation Portable for over a decade. The publisher has announced Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion as part of Final Fantasy 7’s 25th anniversary celebrations, with a release date of Winter 2022 on Steam. This means that you will also be able to play it on the Steam Deck. , another addition to the growing library of handheld RPGs. Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7 Reunion is also coming to consoles. Although announced as a remaster, it seems that the project goes beyond mere brilliance. Square Enix improved the graphics of Crisis Core and expanded all the 3D models for Reunion, as well as adding full voice acting and new musical arrangements designed to present a familiar story in a whole new light.

Crisis Core follows Zack Fair and a series of conflicts that unfold before the main story of Final Fantasy 7, introducing familiar faces like Aeris and Sephiroth and setting the stage for Sephiroth and Shinra’s grand plans.

Not that deadlines matter too much in the Final Fantasy 7 universe. During the presentation, Square Enix also announced Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, officially titled Rebirth. Zack returns in the second part of the trilogy, and in the first trailer for the game, he and Cloud’s other companions comment on how fluid time is, so much so that people who died in a different timeline are still alive in Rebirth.
