With the introduction of ray tracing in a recent update, the Resident Evil 7 system requirements now call for higher specs for your gaming PC. DirectX 12 support is now mandatory, which may require some older systems to require an update or two.
You must now install Windows 11 or 10 to match the upgrade Resident Evil 7 System Requirements, as well as ensuring your setup has a compatible GPU. Fortunately, the barrier to entry isn’t too high: the Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 and AMD Radeon RX 460 are the new minimum specs for a horror game.
Those with the best graphics cards have nothing to fear from Resident Evil 7’s new system requirements and will be able to enjoy all the scares the game has to offer with a fresh coat of ray tracing paint. Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 also went through the same update process, so you’ll need the same specs as here to run those games.
