The Nvidia RTX 4060 may be designed for a lightweight GPU, but it’s probably one of the best graphics cards for budget gaming PCs. While the card will eventually replace the current generation GeForce RTX 3060, it could outperform its high-end ancestors even if it’s not at the top of the RTX 4000 food chain.
RTX4060 It probably won’t be as desirable as the RTX 4090 or RTX 4080, but ongoing component shortages could affect stock levels at launch. The company has reportedly invested $10 billion to secure components for the RTX 4000 series, which we hope will help standardize next-gen availability and pricing. TSMC is also looking to replace Samsung as the company’s sole chipmaker, which should fix production problems.

Nvidia RTX 4060 price speculation
Nvidia has not yet given an official price for the GeForce RTX 4060 and the prices of graphics cards have not yet normalized. That said, if next-gen GPUs are available at MSRP, the RTX 4060 could be $329, as is the RTX 3060. Naturally, gaming laptops with discrete chip options will set you back more, but current prices suggest you could get one for around $1,300.

Nvidia has yet to announce an official release date for its graphics cards, but there are rumors of known leaks and plenty of past trends that we can use to speculate.

Reliable hardware leak save 7kimi says the RTX 4000 series could arrive “mid-July” 2022, but the RTX 4060 could party a bit later. Typically, next-gen entry-level Nvidia cards tend to release a few months after their more capable counterparts launch, with the RTX 2060 launching in Q4 2020, possibly February 2023.
Sources close to Wccftech claim that the RTX 4060 will be the last next-gen GPU as the green team will potentially unveil it at CES 2023.
Nvidia RTX 4060 Spec Rumors
Nvidia is reserving the capabilities of its RTX 4060 card, but the hacking incident has revealed some details related to its Lovelace AD104 GPU. If the RTX 4060 uses the AD104 GPU, the card must include 7680 CUDA cores, a 192-bit bus, and 48 MB of L2 cache. In terms of memory, sources close to Moore’s Law is Dead say the AD104 could have 12GB of VRAM, but note that the chip’s specs aren’t final.
A better PSU should be enough to overwhelm a next-gen Nvidia entry-level card, but rumor has it that the RTX 4060 could draw more power than the RTX 3070. I also want to change the PSU.
Nvidia RTX 4060 benchmark rumors
We’ll have to wait a bit for the RTX 4060 benchmarks, but Nvidia data leaks and expected Moore’s Law results died to help us get a sense of the capabilities of the AD104 chip. YouTuber Tech claims that the GPU can have ray tracing performance on par with the RTX 3090 Ti and boast the rasterization capabilities of the RTX 3080.
MLID sources also claim that the AD104 GPU will have a TDP of 180-250W, suggesting that it will need more power than the RTX 3060. That might be expected, especially given its boosted specs, but it’s worth noting. Keep that in mind if you’re planning on upgrading your rig with a nifty power supply.
