Pokémon GO trainers want to know how to trade Pokémon.
Trading is still a relatively new feature in Pokémon GO. In June 2018, trading quickly became a popular feature in the game, as it was in the main series. Indeed, Niantic Lab is just one step closer to bringing the augmented reality game closer to its predecessors.
But the process can be a bit confusing for those unfamiliar with Pokémon GO, Pokémon trading, or the Pokémon franchise in general. This is where we come in.
Attention, instructors!
New stickers related to the event theme with Pokemon will be available. You’ll be able to get event-themed stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game store. These stickers will be available for the rest of the season! ? pic.twitter.com/1GbRmBbs9q

First, to trade with someone, that person must be on your friends list. In Pokémon GO, your friends list acts as a list of “famous trainers” and only those on this list can interact for business and personal battles. Until this requirement is met, trading can begin.
The trading steps are as follows:
- Open Pokémon GO.
- Access your instructor profile.
- Tap or swipe right at the top of the screen to access the Friends tab.
- Select the trainer you want to trade. This will raise their trainer profile.
- There should be three icon options at the bottom of the screen: “Send Gift”, “Battle”, and “Trade”. Press trade to exit the trading session.
- Select the Pokemon you want to trade with them. Consider the cost of Stardust and make sure you have enough for both.
- As soon as they do the same, confirm the exchange.
If done correctly, the Pokémon set by you and your other trainer will change, and you will successfully trade the Pokémon.
