Communication between the Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific developers and community has been refreshing and impressive over the past few weeks, and players understand why the console’s field of view (FOV) slider remains a dream come true.

In addition to explaining to OpTic TeeP a few days ago why Warzone can’t return a bigger map, Activision’s Chief Creative Officer Josh Bridge joined FaZe Swagg live to answer some tougher questions. Along with ditching some basics, including confirming that the developers wanted to add a sequence mode, Bridge explained exactly why adding a console FOV slider to Warzone was necessary.

“I know we have that option for PC gamers,” Bridge told FaZe Swagg. “The challenge we face is when we only look at pure performance. [demands] Warzone still has a large chunk of our players from previous generation consoles. So we started doing some testing and if we let it, this is a slider that will reduce the frequency of your shots and actually introduce potential bugs and crashes. ”

Bridge went on to explain that the console’s FOV slider will degrade performance and create isolated sync and crashing issues on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
