In March, Activision announced it was working on a mobile version of Warzone, the battle royale spinoff of the popular free-to-play Call of Duty franchise, for the first time.
Call of Duty: Mobile already included a battle royale mode using locations from Modern Warfare and Black Ops, but this entry feels like a whole new Warzone-based game.
Since then, discussions about the development of Warzone Mobile have been relatively muted until recently due to obvious leaks.
Earlier in August, Project Aurora aka Warzone Mobile’s alpha 1.3.0 test server went live, and according to those who tried it online, it looked like the game was really taking off. Alpha testing took place on the mobile version of Verdansk, although it has yet to be officially announced if Activision plans to use the OG card in the final product.
At the end of August, players noticed the newly created official and verified Instagram and Twitter accounts for “Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile”, although Activision has yet to announce it.
Now, it looks like Warzone Mobile will indeed be bringing Verdansk back, as the nine-second teaser appears to show a teaser for the original drone.
More official Warzone Mobile announcements are expected to come closer to the series’ next showcase event, Call of Duty: Next.
