NRG Apex Legends editor Brandon “aceu” Winn has argued that the cult character Wraith is finally being overshadowed by new characters being added to the game.
The claim came in a video from the NRG Apex Legends YouTube account titled “The Ultimate Apex Legends Tier List” and featured creators aceu and LuluLuvely. Aceu makes this claim after many game updates and balance changes recently.
The latest update brought new balance changes and a new meta featuring new legends like Valkyrie and Caustic more powerfully being chosen more and more as their abilities are much more useful than Wraith’s. Additionally, during the video, aceu pointed out the idea that Wraith was “stealing power” from the meta because the characters’ new abilities proved more useful.
Despite the criticism, Wraith still reached a “useful” level due to its longevity and familiarity with players, as well as not having big nerfs which fully account for its effectiveness. Still, he manages to get your team out quickly and get everyone up and running. Aceu’s interpretation is less of a statement about the complete downfall of Wraith and more about the natural growth and progression of Apex Legends as a game and viewing meta.
