Recently, Sony has officially announced that a significant expansion of PlayStation intellectual property into new entertainment areas including TV shows and feature films will require a Gran Turismo movie alongside the Horizon and God of War TV series. The God of War series is expected to be a co-production. Amazon Prime Video and it will be a live-action adaptation or with real actors.
It is precisely this aspect that is particularly intriguing, since for the project to work, Kratos’ charisma will need to be perfectly rebuilt in the TV series.
That’s why a suitable actor is needed: Comicbook Dave Bautista kicked off the idea in a short video posted on Instagram, and the actor former wrestler responded in person by making it clear that he agreed.
The site asked, “Who else could it be from Kratos Dave Bautista?” and the actor ironically replied, “In popular opinion, I’d say someone else,” citing the myriad of ideas that popped up in comments on Instagram. But then “Hey! I’m I like to prove everyone wrong. #justsayin”, as if to show you would be excited to accept the challenge.
Bautista was also particularly keen to play Marcus Fenix in Gears of War (a character that actually modeled quite a bit of his likeness), but no word yet. He still became a playable character in Gears 5, meanwhile.
