A few weeks ago we received the official announcement of this year’s racing game from the world of motorsports queen called F1 22. And here the developers at Codemasters have shared the very first footage.
The video captures the new circuit in Miami, USA, where Formula 1 will take place for the first time this weekend. We can also see the cars of individual teams, and there is also a custom color that we can create in My Team mode.
But the most interesting is at the very end of the video. There we find a shot of a sports car from McLaren, which confirms that there will indeed be a supersport in the game, as previously mentioned by insider Tom Henderson. However, it is not yet clear how many non-Formula 1 cars will be presented here. Henderson later said that the F1 team should not have liked the idea and that supersports should be less featured in the final game than originally intended. In any case, we need to wait for official details.
A press release then revealed covers for two editions of the game. At the base we see McLaren driver Land Norris, Mercedes’ George Russell and current championship leader, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc.
The so-called As the name suggests, the cover of the Champions Edition features former world champions racing this year in F1. We can find here Fernando Alonso (world champion 2005 and 2006), Sebastian Vettel (champion of the 2010-2013 seasons), Lewis Hamilton (world champion 2008, 2014, 2015 and 2017-2020) and finally last year’s champion Max Verstappen .
F1 22 launches July 1 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
