Development remake of the original Splinter Cell Slowly but surely it’s starting to resemble Skull and Bones. The game has lost its second director. A project that fans of stealth actions and Fisher herselfthus remaining without the main creative idea.
The problem was brought to the attention of the Tech4Gamers server, who noticed a new job offer directly from Ubisoft. The company published (and soon deleted) an advertisement for a vacancy for the director of the game Splinter Cell Remake. The description states that the new leader must take responsibility for leading the project, managing the team, developing new game mechanics, and NPC behavior.
Why did Ubisoft withdraw the offer? Either he had already found a suitable candidate, or he wanted to “extinguish” the situation as quickly as possible, so that the internal problems of the project would not be talked about unnecessarily.
First game director David Grivelleft Ubisoft back in 2022, shortly after the remake was officially announced. Worked in the company for 10 years. Now, three years later, his successor is no more. Andrea SchmohlThe reasons for the departure are still unknown. Ubisoft has not yet commented on this issue.
According to earlier information, the Splinter Cell remake will be created on the Snowdrop engine, which, for example, runs Avatar: Pandora’s Frontiers whose Star Wars Outlawsled by Ubisoft Toronto. The game should retain the atmosphere of the original game, but offer modern technology, next-gen stealth mechanics and more realistic light and shadows.
According to recent leaks, they say the internal version looks very promisingwhich gave fans hope, but now they don’t know what to expect. The game is expected to be released in 2026. But the question is what is happening now at Ubisoft during the restructuring. As you know, some of the teams are being separated from a new subsidiary where the Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six brands will be created.
