Studio Owl-Cat Games (creators of the game Pathfinder or Warhammer 40000: Rogue Trader) announced an interesting step: launched a platform GameDev Trainingwhich collects freely available educational materials for game developers of all levels.

The project was created as expansion of internal practicewhere development team leaders shared useful resources with junior colleagues.

You can find it in the catalog wide range of topics – game design, programming, narrative design, project management and more, including tutorials, courses, software recommendations, etc. Other studios have collaborated on this such as Midwest Games, Fire games, Gaijin Entertainment whose 11 Bit Studios.

Each resource must undergo a “manual” human check to avoid low-quality material, and the developers themselves can propose adding new elements. The platform is freely available through the Owlcat website.

This is a nice friendly move for all creatives – a small but real benefit for those looking to develop their skills and save their wallet. The point here is precisely the desire to learn new things.
