Productivity is constantly deteriorating with a continuous game.
The shooter of the 1st face of the Borderlands 4th of the face came out for several days (our review can be found here), but it is accompanied by a number of technical problems. We have already written about those who on a PC, mainly related to high requirements for performance and stuttering, but the situation on consoles is far from perfect. In the video, Tom Morgan from Digital Foundry shone on it.
Borderlands 4 offers two graphic modes that are not very different from paradoxically. On the base PS5 and Xbox Series X, he offers dynamic resolution between 720p and 1080p. And the most strange, in the same resolution the user interface is displayed, so it looks very blurry. In any case, the quality mode has a more accurate lighting and reflection or a large distance of rendering.
Then the PS5 Pro has a great advantage in the form of HUD in NATIVE 4K and a slightly higher dynamic resolution. He also offers better filtering of textures and an even greater distance from the stand. Series S offers the only mode with a slightly lower dynamic resolution than the main console, mainly 720p. In addition, this version has lost a number of reflections, textures are worse, as well as shadows.
In any case, the biggest problem arises with a rat frame, especially in performance mode. It is aimed at 60 frames per second and usually reaches this border on the main PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X, only with lower dies of somewhere up to 55 frames per second (according to Morgan, it is quite possible to limit the processor). But such an ideal script will last a few tens of minutes.
Borderlands 4 suffers from memory leakage. The place in the memory that should be released remains in it and gradually accumulates before it simply overflows the common container. This happens after about 30 minutes of the game and causes huge fps downs, from stable 60 to 40 or even 30 frames per second.
At least the fact that there is no need to temporarily resolve the hard restart of the game, but only in order to go to the menu and subsequent loading of the stored position, which will clean the memory and return the frequency of personnel to stable waters, at least several tens of minutes. Unfortunately, there is no other solution until the gearbox puts the patch. This is not the first UE5 game with a memory leak, we can recall the Lords of the Fallen or recent oblivion Remaster.
If you agree with a 30 -frame per second (there are no Au Series S or Selection series), there is still the opportunity to use the quality mode that is much more stable. Morgan did not even encounter a decline, even in longer, continuous games. Nevertheless, it is possible that if you play for a long time, the frame rate will fall below this half.
