The Japanese company Capcom has published financial results today for the first quarter of the current financial year, i.e. The period between the beginning of April and at the end of June. In the end, this did not turn out to be completely wrong for him, but the best title was the best sold than we expect.
This time, six -year -old Devil May Cry 5 event, which sold very respectable 1.7 million copies, almost twice the best title for this period already paid more than 10 million. The HD collection of the first three episodes and a special edition of the fourth part were also successful. The reason is completely clear, Netflix has arrived in the form of an animated series, which has already confirmed the second series.
Traditionally, the Resident Evil series was also well sold. Most of the village, which, possibly, thanks to the announcement of the ninth episode, reached 923,000 copies. A ramage of four and seven was in the curtain, and the TOP -10 was still a RIMAC of two with less than half a million. In general, the series has already made 174 million copies sold and is still the most successful Capcom brand in terms of sales.
However, of course, the largest surprise occurred on the lower steps of the list. This year, the released RPG Monster Hunter Wilds, had a huge success for sales for Capcom and even exceeded 10 million copies since the end of March. However, in the next three months they sold only 477,000, which is no more than a few years of monsters, and the title almost did not fit into the top -10.
Although this is less clear with the reason, it is very likely that this is the result of players dissatisfaction with previous updates and still poor optimization on a PC. Only 14 % of Steam reviews over the past 30 days are positive, and a total of 51 %, which earned the game “mixed”. It will be interesting to see how the game will continue to do, because it should have been the largest Capcom draw for the financial year this year until the Resident Evil Requiem will appear in February 2026.
