After seven years, one of the longest student games in the Czech Republic has been preparing in the development. Silicomrades 20. 6 will be released from the independent external team of the fox. And this will bring a unique combination of the absurdity of humor, manual aesthetics and non -traditional gaming process, in which your own decay will not stop you – rather the opposite.
In the world in which bureaucratic totalitarianism called Lawtia dominated, you take a couple of shabby robots from the series Emading C & J. The state decided not to be quite effective, and it is equal to death in this country. Their last chance is to face a meaningless system. Literally. It is best in two, because Silicomrades is a sofa-cooperative action, as for friends, partners and brothers and sisters.
Key mechanics is a gap. When robots earn intervention, they lose their components. This changes their capabilities and the path of control. It may happen that one smoke is stunning, the other begins to shoot only at the teammate, or both robots begin to attract uncontrollable magnetic power. Defects affect the style of play, opening access to stronger bonuses. The game constantly makes you adapt tactics and cooperation.
The name will offer four significantly different episodes that will lead you to an abandoned factory, a natural reserve or an absurdly regulated office. Each mission is an opportunity to detect a new combination of defects, strategies and unexpected jokes. Some to Kafka for sure.
Behind silicone, there is a team that gathered together during university research. The participants passed the fields from computer sciences to film production to fine art and returned to the game for many years in the evenings, weekends and during foreign internships. Despite all the obstacles, the project retained a purely independent character and was created without any support for publishers.
Thanks to this, the game retains a distinctive manuscript – a graphics with a hand, an adaptive soundtrack based on copper instruments and an excellent humor. Five years ago, the Student of the Year Award won and showed at a show such as access to the game or GDS.
“We are glad that silicomores will really see the light. Work on the game in his free time for almost seven years (and does not even intervene, like our main characters), carries a lot of specific traps, but we always forced us to create something original, ”explains Jan Holan.
