Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick stressed in an interview with investors that while such decisions are always painful, they ultimately turn out to be the right ones. And he added that other companies could take an example from Rockstar. This made it easier to find games that were released in an unpatched state.

“Delaying a release is always a difficult decision, but looking back, we have never regretted it.” – Zelnik said. “Some of our competitors in similar situations made a different decision – they released the game, although it took more time. And it paid off quite well for them.”

Zelnick didn’t say who exactly he was referring to, but fans immediately speculated that he was referring to a recent event. MindsEye city event fiascowhat does it mean former GTA producer Leslie Benzies. The game was heavily criticized upon release and became one of the biggest disappointments of the year. Besides In 2016, Benzies sued Rockstar for $150 million.claimed he was illegally fired in 2015. The court later rejected his claim. Build and Rocket Boy co-founder Mark Gerhard again he attributed the failure of MindsEye to saboteurs. He suggested that Rockstar themselves sent the saboteurs to the studio. It looks like something out of Cowgirl.

Anyway, Zelnik concluded his speech by stating that Take-Two and Rockstar care about quality. It takes precedence over the deadline. “We want each of our games to come out in the best possible way. When development takes longer, we simply give it time. In the end, it always leads to a better result – for the players and for us.” Zelnik added.

We can only hope that Rockstar knows what they are doing and GTA VI will be released in November 2026 in the best possible way. Meanwhile, the Internet is speculating about the reason. There are doubts as to how such a large, graphics-intensive game will perform on current-gen consoles. Some even write that developers are waiting for new generation consoles. But I don’t think so. Rockstar won’t want to release the game only on new hardware where there won’t be as many players. As for GTA VI, it is undoubtedly aimed at the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, as GTA V was first released on PS3 and Xbox 360. Only then on other platforms, including PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. It will be the same here.
