Misleading preliminary viewing, blocking the drivers and threats for the well -known creator of content.
While in the Taiwanese metropolis, the Computex hardware fair takes place, Nvidia decided to choose this moment at the moment when it issues a new video card in the form of RTX 5060.
It all started when the release date, which fell on May 19. Many journalists and creators of the content were in Taiwa for several days in Computex, where they are devoted to new information from companies, but also presented products at kiosks directly at the exhibition. They just deal with completely different things, and, therefore, some of the NVIDII, accused of a desire to “bury” this card, because reviews, not only from 8 GB of memory, would not be the best.
But the whole drama was far from completed. Subsequently, NVIDIA announced that drivers who would bring support to the RTX 5060 will not arrive on the day of release. Since the card is literally unsuitable for use without the support of drivers, it is intended for reviewers, which even if they manage to get to the card itself (which some actually received in advance), they still could not check it. And so the other creators who did not plan to go to Taiwan began to reconcile, saying that they would not have a review on time.
But, and here is the most important fact, NVIDIA ultimately provided some reviewers with access to drivers, but it was not only that. Some creators (not all of them) provided the opportunity to create a preliminary view, which will also give average access to drivers and can give a review on time. But the preliminary viewing conditions were extremely limiting.
The German magazine Gamestar shared details that say that Nvidia informed the creators in advance, which video cards will be compared in preliminary viewing of the RTX 5060, and a list of names and specific settings was definitely determined. In short, the company carefully chose everything so that the preliminary card came out as best. This checked the resolution of 1080p (where the VRAM 8 GB is usually enough) and the Mutli-Frame gene, while the card was compared with the Super RTX 3060 and 2060, which do not have images generation. The resulting comparison does not matter at all.
GameStar was one of those magazines that accepted the proposal, but the editors of the article directly say that they did this only to gain access to drivers. Nevertheless, many major creators publicly criticize NVIDII for this procedure, whether it is the equipment, broken, Nexus gamers and Daniel Owen. Of course, preliminary viewing as such is not novelty, but NVIDIA never corresponded to the approach to reviews for reviews. And since the preliminary viewing had such strict conditions, we can slightly doubt the objectivity of several reviews that appeared on the day of release.
In the case of Steve Berk from Gamers Nexus, the company should even threaten that if it does not emphasize the multi -quality gene in the video, it will no longer get the opportunity to meet with NVIDIA engineers who know and interview them. At the same time, Steve adds that the employees themselves know nothing about anything, and the top management accepts them only as hostages.
But if we return to the map itself, we will probably have to wait for the proper tests. In any case, RTX 5060 came out, and you can get it in the Czech Republic, the price begins with 8,099 kroons.
