The management of the London studio Splash Damage announced the cancellation of the upcoming game Transformers: Reactivatewhich was officially unveiled in December 2022. Genre-wise, it was a four-player co-op event that would capitalize on the Transformers universe.

Completion of work on the game is accompanied by dismissal of an indefinite number of employeeswho have been involved in the development so far. Representatives of the studio talk about the difficult period and the transition to other projects. However, the future existence of the studio must be ensured.

Splash Damage is mostly remembered by players as a support team during the development of Gears of War 4 and Gears 5, in which it was responsible for the multiplayer component. In terms of his own creation, he brought it all to market, e.g. games Gears Tactics and Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.

“Not being able to finish a game hurts, but saying goodbye to friends and colleagues hurts even more. We are now focused on doing everything we can to support them during this difficult time, and we are also committed to caring for those who will remain with us as we build a stronger Splash Damage in the future.” studio executives said in the report embedded below.
