Post-apocalyptic hit STALKER 2: The Heart of Chernobyl has won the hearts of PC and Xbox Series X/S gamers since its release, but what about PlayStation 5 fans? According to the current statement from the development studio GSC Game World, owners of Sony consoles will not receive a port of the game yet.
In an interview with the gaming portal Tech4Gamers, GSC Game World development director Evgeniy Grigorovich said that the Ukrainian studio does not yet plan to port the game to PS5. “Right now we’re focusing solely on Xbox and PC,” Grigorovich added. This confirmed that there is no talk of a PlayStation 5 port yet. Or is it something else?
One of the questions that resonates among players is: timed exclusive for Xbox. The American company Microsoft paid for the exclusivity of the console, which will reportedly last for three months. What usually happens is that during this time the developers are not allowed to talk about the other console version. Grigorovich did not mention other platforms, but only repeated in an interview that he is now focused on existing versions.
But if the developers are really busy fixing and improving the game, then it is quite possible that STALKER 2 will be released on PS5 with a big delay. Only time will tell.
Released on Xbox Series X/S and PC, STALKER 2 has been a huge success since its launch. It sold over a million copies in the first 48 hours, allowing the developers to cover development costs in less than a month. Having a subscription also played a big role in spreading the game’s popularity. Game pass.
STALKER 2: The Heart of Chernobyl was released on November 20, 2024. The game includes: Czech subtitles.
