Obsidian Entertainment studio, known for such series as The Outer Worlds or Pillars of Eternity, commented in more detail on its upcoming new product called Recognized. According to the developers, the game will be released on consoles Xbox series X/S Maintain at least 30 frames per second, which is the basic value for stable performance and smooth operation. However, on the more powerful Xbox Series X, players can also expect higher frame rates thanks to Performance mode.
Studio representatives emphasized that 30 frames per second is the “absolute minimum” for them, that is, they are trying to ensure game stability even on the less powerful Xbox Series S. On more powerful platforms, they want to offer gamers the best possible graphics and performance, including 60 frames on the Series X. This flexibility will allow gamers to choose between image quality and performance according to their preferences.
In addition to performance on consoles, the studio also commented on how it deals with strong competition in the gaming industry. Avowed comes out during the same period as several other major games such as Kingdom Come: Deliverance II (11.2.), Assassin’s Creed Shadows (14.2.) or Wild Monster Hunters (February 28). But Obsidian doesn’t see this as a problem. The authors are primarily focused on creating a unique experience that players will enjoy through a rich world, a strong story and rich gameplay.
Obsidian believes Avowed will find its audience even in a busy season full of other big games. It relies on a combination of fantasy environments, RPG elements and the typical sense of detail that already attracted players in their previous games. Avowed will release on February 18, 2025 for PC and Xbox Series X/S. It will be included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
